Conversations about menopause

We want to normalise talking about menopause, whether you're with friends, family, colleagues or health professionals. If there were more open and honest conversations about this life transition, it would be a lot easier for everyone involved.

How to ask and prepare for a GP appointment on menopause

Here are some tips to help you get the most from your appointment:

  1. Ask the reception which GP is best to speak to about menopause
  2. Request a longer appointment if possible
  3. Before your appointment, record all your symptoms along with their frequency and severity
  4. Write down any questions or concerns beforehand
  5. Have your vital measurements ready, if possible (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, etc).

Beforehand, you may also want to read the NICE guidelines on menopause for further information.
